Aaliyah ft. Drake – “Enough Said”

Posted in Entertainment, Inspiration, Music, Twitter on August 6, 2012 by tokyosparkz

Aaliyah passed away almosts 11 years ago, but today (August 5th) we get a new song from the late artist called “Enough Said,” featuring Drake. The Toronto rapper made headlines when he revealed that he would be executive producing a posthumous album from the storied singer and actress. The ethereal and smooth track was produced by Drizzy’s trust producer, Noah “40” Shebib.

Drake getting hands on with Aaliyah’s music has spurned some controversy. Timbaland believes that he and Missy Elliott, who were key in Aaliyah’s meteoric rise to success, feels that it’s only right that they both be involved in the project, as do plenty of fans. “I know they trying to drop some Aaliyah records, but if he do it, it should be with me and him, and Missy,” Timbaland told the Breakfast Club.

As for Drake, the YMCMB rapper is surely excited since he recently got another tattoo in honor of Aaliyah (a “116” for her January 16th birthday on his ribcage) to complement the one of her face he has on his back.

Let us know what you think of the new Aaliyah song in the comments. Listen to “Enough Said” below.

Outkast Headed To Epic Records For Group Deal

According to “The Hollywood Reporter,” Big Boi and Andre 3000 will be reunite with L.A. Reid and record the next Outkast album under Epic Records.

Former Island/Def Jam Chairman Antonio “L.A.” Reid has resurfaced at both Epic Records and as a judge on the upcoming Fox talent search show “The X-Factor.” According to a report from The Hollywood Reporter, Reid is wasting no time bringing in some of his former LaFace/Jive acts over to his new home at Epic.

“L.A. Reid has been busy erasing the company’s tarnished image and rebuilding its roster, which will soon include Outkast and Ciara, sources tell The Hollywood Reporter,” said Shirley Halperin of The Hollywod Reporter’s website, “Reid has a long history with both acts, who were originally signed to his LaFace Records.”

Reid was instrumental in initially signing Outkast to the LaFace label he cofounded with Kenneth “Babyface” Edmonds, as well as later signing Ciara to Jive. Both acts have expressed frustration with Jive since Reid’s departure with Outkast’s Big Boi accusing Jive of not clearing his Andre 3000 feature for “Lookin’ For Ya.”  Additionally, Ciara took to Facebook back in February and told fans “I pray that my label will release me…it’s at that point where I feel we don’t share the same views on who I am as an artist.”

Big Boi previously stated individual solo albums as well as an Outkast album were on deck for 2012. And if he and Andre 3000 are able to facilitate a move from Arista to Epic with Reid, it would it would seem to greatly improve the odds of making that happen.
